The Foothills Fest Family

Since 2013, Foothills Fest has staged 40+ bands from across the nation, created a venue for local artists and artisans, raised thousands of dollars for education, and brought the community together to give Marshall its own artistic identity. The festival is known as a must-attend fall event for friends & family, food & drink, a warm positive vibe, and of course, top tier multi-genre music. For thousands of people around Saline County and across Missouri, Foothills Fest is the place to be.

A weekend of Art, Music, Food, Fun, and Camping. What more could you ask for?

Last year's awesome turnout exceeded expectations in many ways, and as a result, FF16 will be able to bring in Globally-known talent, and charge entry to the festival for the first time in the event's life. Headlining this year's festival is Billboards #1 Blues Album holder of 2015, and Missouri's own, Samantha Fish, and all the way from Florida, nationally touring and recent recipient of a music video award, Southern Gypsy Funk band Come Back Alice!

Only into her mid-20s she already released two CDs, played all over the world and shared the stage with well-established to the legendary artists from Tab Benoit and Johnny Lang to Buddy Guy. Label mate and sometimes touring buddy, Mike Zito has long championed Samantha, produced her critically acclaimed albums, Runaway and Black Wind Howlin’ (2013).  Samantha’s had a master’s class in a wide variety of the blues. Her work ethic is unquestioned and her love for performance is obvious.

All that ambition and passion paid off in 2012 when Samantha won a Blues Music Award for Best New Artist Debut for her 2011 release Runaway (Ruf Records). The wonderful critical praise, winning fans at shows and all the long hours driving came to a shining moment that put more fuel into her fire. This desire is now revealed with Wild Heart as the pivotal moment in her budding career.

Violet and the Undercurrents have been described as “..Sophisticated folk-rockers ..” (Columbia Daily Tribune) The Columbia, Mo.-based power house of inventive and creative energy pulls influences from several genres of music and artists, such as The Local Natives, Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, Ani Difraco, Bob Dylan, Billie Holiday, and St. Vincent. With such varied inspirations, it’s hard to peg their sound to one genre. From classically trained vocalist, Violet Vonder Haar, Phylshawn Johnson’s and Linda Bott’s years of jazz and indie rock involvement, the girls bring a lot to the musical table.

Magnolia Brown was formed in 2008 as a "cover band". It was quickly found, this was not a cover band!". Every MB gig is made of improv jams crazy covers, great originals! This band stays busy playing anywhere from 4-10 times a month. Gigs are spread out through louisiana and tx mostly but doesnt stop there. They have built a reputation as never playing same show twice. Between lengthy jams and a diverse set list there is no place for boredom in these shows. Each member is greatly skilled and completes what is known as the "brown" sound!!Come see for yourself

Len Binning (lead vocals,guitar,harmonica)

Sam Apperson(lead vocals,lead guitar)

Bob Yeager(bass)

Scott Patterson(keys)

Derek Russell (lead vocals,Drums)

My music is a reflection of my dreams, my experience, and my love for those around me. There are always secrets hidden within my lyrics, and as a songwriter not everything can be made up, but not everything can be a fairy-tale that actually exists. Love Lost, Love Gained, Truth remains.

"Jamie Lou has made herself known across the state for her one-of-a-kind singing voice and superb songwriting talent. Jamie Lou played on into the night with a gripping set of originals, spanning from folky acoustic numbers to ambient indie rock pieces laden with the mellow sound of the Pedal Steel Guitar. Drawing influences from both old and new, Jamie Lou didn't fail to make an impression on just about everyone in the audience, including myself."

We are Warbot wizard space pirates from another galaxy.

All music improvised right before your eyes.

Invader-keyboards/funky sounds

Structured largely from improvisational influences, the band found their unique sound by allowing each member to artistically express their individual style(s). “Everyone said you couldn't combine quirky classical stylings with funky drums and fiddles and still end up with an audience friendly genre”, says lead guitar and vocalist Tony Tyler, “…but it's that unexpected combination that makes people quickly take notice and groove along with Come Back Alice.”

Founded towards the end of 2011, the CBA train is quickly picking up steam. With a passion for live performance, the band comes equipped with a full production of lights, sound, and a promise to never play the same show twice!!

With a second full length album to be released in Fall 2016, a website at, and major interest from some of the music industries heavy hitters, these guys and gal from ST. Petersburg are breaking new ground...and really shaking things up!
